Senior Vice President & Editor-in-Chief RealNetworks, Inc. Mr. Brown joined RealNetworks in August 2002 as the Senior Vice President News & Information, and Editor in Chief, with the principal responsibility of ensuring that all of our RealOne content services have a consistent editorial style and quality on a daily basis. Most recently, Mr. Brown was the Senior Vice President and Editor-in-Chief at MSNBC.com, the online news service that he helped launch in 1996. During his tenure, the fledgling company grew to become one of the most visited news offerings on the Web, maintaining a position as the No. 1 online news provider since 1999. Mr. Brown previously was a media and communications consultant who contributed work to Time Inc., NBC, U S West, and other media ventures. He served as consulting senior editor of Money Magazine and as consulting editor for Time Magazine.
Prior to his
work at Time, he served as a business writer and Wall Street correspondent
for The Washington Post and as Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning monthly,
Channels magazine. Mr. Brown holds a BA in Political Science from Washington
