He has worked on games ranging from sports titles like All-Star Baseball to the recently launched Wanted: Weapons of Fate. Has this been seen before? If it has, are we doing it in a different way? Is it going to be fun? …Are we pushing? Are we continuing to move the industry forward? We so rarely think of the games we work on as movie games. We think of them as great games first and foremost, so we are working on a game..” (March 10, 2009 interview with Joystiq)

Gaming and Film– How to Successfully Navigate the Murky Waters Surrounding Hollywood and the Game Industry
Panel produced by
Most big movies released these days have a video game based on the movie narrative and characters tied to the franchise, and, while licensed games don’t always get the most favorable reviews from game critics, they often sell better than games based on original IP, making it a big opportunity for Hollywood and the game industry alike. In this panel, leading game and movie execs discuss the growing relationship between Hollywood and the game industry. How are these two industries working together to create profitable games based on film brands? What are the business and marketing challenges in trying to develop profitable games? What lessons have been learned from past projects – good and bad – that are guiding the relationships of the future as these industries continue to converge to develop better games of the future?
