Patrick McQuown is President and co-founder of Proteus, a leading
professional services organization with offices in Washington, D.C. and San
Francisco, California. Proteus develops award-winning Internet, wireless and
interactive television applications. Clients who have benefited from Proteus'

Mr. McQuown's vision has led Proteus to such achievements as being the first
company in U.S. to develop and demonstrate a working WAP (wireless Internet)
site as well as launching a wireless voting application for the 2002 Super
Bowl which represented the largest viewing audience ever presented with
interactive TV, and the first to use wireless technology. Other achievements
include the first interactive TV broadcast using two-way SMS in 2002, for
NASCAR on FOX, wireless broadcasts of the entire MLB and NFL seasons on FOX
Sports, and the first advertiser-sponsored, multi-carrier interactive
broadcast on a major network, ABC's 2003 Daytime Emmy Awards, which allowed
viewers from multiple carriers to vote using the same SMS short code or WAP
site. Proteus' wireless division has assumed a national leadership position
in the rapidly developing wireless Internet industry, a position confirmed by
Patrick McQuown's prominent appearances in recent major articles about the
wireless Internet and e-commerce in publications including The Washington
Post, Wireless Review, Entrepreneur Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. Mr.
McQuown was also the first-ever guest commentator for FierceWireless, the
largest wireless newsletter in the world.
Prior to Proteus, Mr. McQuown was a federal investigator within the Division
of Enforcement at the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). While at
the CFTC in 1995 and 1996 Mr. McQuown spearheaded the commission's efforts to
investigate and prosecute commodity fraud over the Internet. This resulted in
a front-page article in the Sunday New York Times that highlighted the
various accomplishments of Mr. McQuown and the CFTC. Mr. McQuown, the
youngest instructor in the history of the CFTC, also served as the main
instructor on a first-ever inter-agency international training session on
internet fraud. The session consisted of sessions with the CTFC, the SEC, the
FBI and NASD. Personnel from all agencies attended, as did representatives
from over 13 countries.
