Rachael Church
is Managing Director of ArkSports (www.arksports.com), a London-based
research company and consultancy specialising in all areas of the business of
sport including broadcasting, sponsorship and new media. She is the Editor of
e-newsletter Sport and Technology (www.sportandtechnology.com) and the
author of several widely-acclaimed reports including Sport on the Internet
(June 2000), the Global Business of Sports Television (March 2003)
both published by Screen Digest and Bidding and Hosting: The Guide to
Successful Sporting Events (Sportcal, September 2003). Rachael is the
former Director of Consulting for the SportBusiness Group in London and
previous Editor of both the European Sponsorship Newsletter and
PACT Magazine for the Producers’ Alliance for Cinema and
Television.
She is the former Editor of several financial newsletters including
Emerging Markets Focus, Cash Management Focus, Financial Times World
Accounting Report and Financial Times Fraud Report. She was also
Head of Reports at Financial Times Media & Telecoms for two years with direct
responsibility for a list of over 200 management reports covering all aspects
of sponsorship, broadcasting, film, new media and telecoms. Rachael has
contributed to trade press including SportBusiness International,
Television Business International, Advanced Television Markets, Cable &
Satellite Europe, Screen Digest, Marketing and
Football Insider.
She has been a speaker and chair at many leading sports conferences including
the International Olympic Committee conference on New Media (Lausanne,
December 2000) FINA's World Congress on Marketing and New Media (Barcelona,
April 2001), Medientage's Sports and New Media (Munich, November 2001),
ESCA's Sponsorship Congress (Stockholm, November 2001), SportBusiness'
Motorsport Business (Monte Carlo, December 2001), ASI's European Digital
Television Symposium (Barcelona, November 2002), SportAccord (Madrid, May
2003) and the Financial Times Conference on the Business of Sport (London,
June 2003).
Rachael
has a BA Honours degree from Queen’s University Belfast and an MPhil from
Exeter University.
